The Master's programme in the direction 32.04.01 "Public Health" is opened at North-Western State Medical University named after I.I. Mechnikov in the frame of the priority development directions of higher (professional) education from September 01, 2014.

The Master of Science Program was developed in accordance with Federal National Educational Standart of higher professional education for educational direction “Public health” No. 060400 (Master degree). Syllabus of the MS Program meets european standarts for MS in Public Health. The MS Program is harmonized with leading educational models, including programs of the university of Illinois Chicago, Illinois (United States of America) as well. The requirements of ASPHER (association of schools of Public health in the European Region) were also taken into account.

The NWSMU n.a. I.I.Mechnikov and two Universities of Norway concluded an Agreement, that supposes participation of European professors in the educational continuum in our University.  English-speaking students are supposed to take one semester at the University of Oslo. 

Students will get on graduation a state-recognized degree, that affords the possibility to work in Russian Federation and in a number of European countries.

The MS Program starts on Sept. 1, 2014.

The applying for the Master of Science Program “Public health” (No. 32.04.01) starts on June, 20 and ends on Jul. 10, 2014. The MS program is available for russian and foreign citizen having higher professional education. Candidates provide original  or certified copies of bachelor’s, specialist’s or master’s degree. The preliminary examination (test) in the discipline “Public health” will take place in the period from June, 11 2014.

Duration of the MS Program is 2 years. Students that graduated from faculty of Preventive Medicine of our university will be able to learn in an accelerated program.
