IV interregional forum: Arctic: present and future

On December 5-7 was held «IV interregional forum: Arctic: present and future» where were discussed the following topics:

  • Legal support of IT implementation in health care
  • Medical informatization in Arctic
  • Healthcare logistics in Arctic regions
  • Remote control system development
  • Distant technologies in preventive medicine programs
  • Remote technologies in prevention programs.

On the forum were discussed and stated major peculiarities of Arctic regions affecting health:

  • Low temperatures
  • Strong winds
  • Lack of sunlight
  • Lack of studies in the use of preventive measures
  • Anthropogenic hazards related to environmental pollution by superpoisons
  • Contamination from «Dirty Dozen»

Artic is the most vulnerable area to climate changes and major ecological, sociological, and economic impacts.
