On 3-15 August, 2015 in the framework of working program on academic cooperation between the Medical University of Varna 'Prof. Dr. Paraskev Stoyanov, Bulgaria and the North-Western State Medical University named after I.I. Mechnikov was successfully realized bilateral academic mobility program (students exchange). 8 Bulgarian students had summer medical practice in NWSMU named after I.I.  Mechnikov and 7 Russian students in MU-Varna, respectively.

Students were accompanied by Prof. Todorka Kostadinova, Vice Rector International Relations, Accreditation and Quality Management, lately by Assoc. Professor Emanuela Mutafova – Dean of the Faculty of Public Health.

Bulgarian student enriched their knowledge in medicine and developed practical skills at Cardiovascular surgery and Propaedeutic of Internal Diseases departments under the guidance of K.V. Kuznetsov. and Prof. L.S.  Oreshko. Students also visited simulation center at the Department of Family Medicine accompanied by Prof. E.V. Frolova.

The visit started with an excursion to the museum of NWSMU named after I.I. Mechnikov guided by the head of museum A.U. Solomein. The delegation visited numerous cultural and historical sites, such as Hermitage, Russian museum, The Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood, Kazan Cathedral, Saint Isaac's Cathedral, Peter and Paul Fortress as well as Petergof and Tsarskoye Selo. Also they had a sightseeing tour of St. Petersburg's rivers and canals.

We are pleased to have such a reliable partner as the Medical University of Varna «Prof. Dr. Paraskev Stoyanov», and we hope to strengthen further productive cooperation between our universities
