In the current context the development of international academic cooperation is required for efficiency of any university in Russia. The merger of the educational system of the Russian Federation with the educational systems of other countries is defined by the legislation as one of the targets of common international activity of educational organizations.

From November 27 to November 28, 2014 the Department of Preventive Medicine and Health Care of the State budget institution of higher education "North-Western State Medical University named after I.I. Mechnikov" under the Ministry of Public Health of the Russian Federation holds the workshop on a contractual basis "Implementation of technical regulations of the Customs Union in the practice of public catering and trade enterprises".

Training course "Systematic review and meta-analysis: theory and practice" will be held from 10 to 14 November 2014 in Saint-Petersburg, North-Western State Medical University named after I.I. Mechnikov, Piskarevskij pr. 47, Department of Epidemiology, Parasitology and Disinfectology.

Dr. Prasobsri Ungthavorn, Vice-President of the Medical Council of Thailand, visited North-Western State Medical University named after I.I. Mechnikov in the frame of the reconnaissance visit to the leading universities of the Russian Federation on September 22.

On September 2, 2014 Professor Otari G. Khurtsilava, Rector of NWSMU n.a. I.I. Mechnikov and Professor Helmut Hahn, Chairman of the Koch Metchnikoff Forum, signed an Agreement on academic cooperation in the field of research and educational activities.

On September 4-5 the North-Western State Medical University named after I.I. Mechnikov accepted the delegation from Harbin Medical University (China), headed by Prof. Yang Baofeng, President of Harbin Medical University.
